<p>William Howard Taft National Historic Site will present three afternoon Teas honoring the contributions the Taft family made to Cincinnati cultural institutions. The afternoon teas will begin at 1:30 pm with the 14 minute documentary film on the life of the president followed by the featured speaker at 2:00 pm. A tour of the birthplace and boyhood home of the 27th President and 10th Chief Justice of the United States will be conducted at the end of the presentations.</p>
<p>The three Teas will feature the following presentations:</p>
<ul>
	<li><strong>June 12, 2012:</strong> Chris Pinelo, Vice-president Communications of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, <br />will speak on the Taft&#8217;s and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.</li>
	<li><strong>July 17, 2012:</strong> Thane Maynard, Director of the Cincinnati Zoo, <br />will speak on The Taft&#8217;s and the Cincinnati Zoo.</li>
	<li><strong>August 21, 2012:</strong> Jane Durrell, writer at City Beat, <br />will speak on the History of the Cincinnati Art Museum.</li>
</ul>
<p><br />Taft&#8217;s family was instrumental in the development of many cultural organizations in Cincinnati. Most notably his brother, Charles Phelps Taft and his wife Anna Sinton Taft, with their financial contributions to many of these organizations. The president&#8217;s wife, Helen Herron Taft, was a major contributor in the founding of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.<br /><br />The presentations will be held in the Garden room of the historic house at the Site. The presentations are free and open to the public. Reservations are requested, space is limited.  Call 513-684-3262 for reservations. Refreshments will be provided.<br /><br />Events begin at the Taft Education Center, located at 2038 Auburn Avenue, one block south of the Christ Hospital. <p>Cincinnati – A new community garden for cultivation of fresh produce will open in Mt. Auburn with a groundbreaking ceremony at <strong>9 a.m. on Saturday, April 17.</strong>The Mt. Auburn Community Garden will be located at the corner of Auburn Ave. and Mason St. on land donated and maintained by The Christ Hospital. The garden was built by Messer Construction with collaborative support from the Mt. Auburn Chamber of Commerce, the Mt. Auburn Community Council, the Civic Garden Center of Greater Cincinnati and the Center for Closing the Health Gap in Greater Cincinnati.</p>
<p>Plots in the community garden will be free to any resident of Mt. Auburn who enjoys growing produce or has an interest in learning about the growing process. This initiative was undertaken to bring agriculture back to the urban core and introduce healthy and fresh food options to an underserved population.</p>
